  • Identify, record, and report non-conforming materials, and support the resolution process in coordination with the project team.
  • Witness and monitor sampling and testing activities for materials such as soils, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, steel, water, and utility-related products in accordance with inspection and test plans.
  • Inspect material-related aspects of civil and infrastructure works, including roadworks, concrete works, reinforcement, structural steel, drainage, utilities, and associated components.
  • Review material storage, handling, preservation, and protection practices at site stores, laydown areas, and stockyards.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, sampling registers, testing logs, and related quality documentation.
  • Support the preparation of site reports, quality observations, and non-conformance records where required.
  • Liaise effectively with resident engineers, site engineers, contractors, laboratories, health and safety teams, and quality personnel to support coordinated project delivery.
  • Promote compliance with project quality, health and safety, and environmental requirements at all times.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience on major infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, water, stormwater, or utility networks.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical submittals, material certificates, and laboratory test results.
  • Good working knowledge of site quality documentation, inspection processes, and record management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple inspection activities in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and a collaborative working style.
