We are seeking individuals passionate about mobility solutions that go beyond infrastructure and help shape the way cities and regions move.

About the Role

We offer an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and inspiring Principal Bridge Engineer to join our growing Bridges team in Dubai.

Our UAE Bridges team delivers a diverse portfolio of transportation and infrastructure projects across the UAE and wider Middle East region. We partner with major clients and authorities to design and deliver bridges and associated structures that support resilient, sustainable, and connected communities.

Our projects span highways, urban mobility and rail infrastructure, including highway interchanges, vehicular and pedestrian bridges, grade separations, flyovers, rail structures, and complex bridge rehabilitation and widening schemes. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across roads, geotechnical, utilities, rail, and urban development, we provide integrated engineering solutions from concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design, tender documentation, and construction support.

As a Principal Bridge Engineer, you will provide technical and project leadership across a portfolio of bridge projects, overseeing design delivery, mentoring engineers and technicians, and fostering strong client relationships. You will play a key role in shaping the strategic growth of Zutari's Bridges capability in the Middle East, driving technical excellence, innovation, and high-quality project outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes, influence the future of bridge engineering in the region, and contribute to engineering solutions that create a lasting positive impact for our clients and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Principal Bridge Engineer will be responsible for leading the design of bridges from concept design through to detailed design.
  • He/she will oversee and be supported by Bridge Engineers and Bridge Technicians.

  • Deliver solutions to complex problems.
  • Use initiative to resolve tasks or problems that arise.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Prepare clear and detailed written reports.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues, managers and clients.

  • BEng / BSc (Hon) or equivalent in civil or structural engineering.
  • CEng or PE accreditation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in bridge design, including at least 5 years in the Middle East.
  • Experience in both steel and concrete bridges is preferred.
  • Experience and proven ability in efficiently producing bridge designs of the highest quality.
  • Experience leading a team whilst demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Client liaison and management of relationships across a variety of projects.
  • Detailed working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD as adopted in the Gulf region essential. Experience in using other international codes and standards is desirable.
  • Proficient in the use of CSI Bridge and/or Midas.
  • Energetic, proactive, reliable team player with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of customer service principles.

We believe that a diverse workforce is key to our business success.  We seek the best people for our jobs based on their skills, qualifications and experience.  We embrace the principle of equal opportunity in employment and work towards eliminating all forms of unlawful discrimination in our employment practices.
