About the Role:

7SecondSolar has an exciting position for mid-level back-end developer with expertise in React and TypeScript to assist with the development, deployment and maintenance of AUTOPV™, an advanced computational design SaaS solution in the Clean Tech space. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing web applications using React and TypeScript and a solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML and CSS.  The successful candidate will become part of a small, growing team responsible for the development of tools aimed to disrupt the way large Solar PV projects are designed and built globally. We will expect of this candidate to play a key part in all development activities including testing, debugging and deploying applications onto our AWS platform. It would be expected of the candidate to gain a comprehensive understanding of both the existing code base as well as the underlying solution domain.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality software systems using React and TypeScript
  • Collaborate with the AUTOPV™ back-end development team as well as UX/UI teams to design, develop, and implement new features
  • Develop and implement APIs and integrate back-end systems with front-end applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, adhering to industry best practices and 7SecondSolar’s coding standards and style guides
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and best practices are followed
  • Write unit tests and integration tests
  • Troubleshoot, debug and provide fixes as part of the software development lifecycle
  • Participate in agile development process, sprint planning and estimation
  • Continuously learn and keep up-to-date with the latest front-end and back-end technologies, frameworks and best practices

Requirements

Qualifications

  • BSc Computer Science or similar

Required Experience

  • At least 4 years of software development experience with a strong grasp of React and Typescript fundamentals
  • Experience writing unit tests using tools such as jest or vitest
  • Experience writing integration tests using tools such as playwright or cypress
  • Experience with server-side technologies such as Node.js
  • Experience with Agile development methodology
  • Excellent team collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns
  • Proficient in Git and online Git repositories such as GitHub, BitBucket

Nice to Have

  • Experience deploying projects to AWS cloud Infrastructure
  • Experience with Python micro-service development 
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
